CHANCE FOR UNIVERSITY POETS

Work by American College Students to be Published in Anthology.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

An Anthology of the best poetry written by college students during the present academic year, 1916-17, is being compiled by the Stratford Publishing Company, 32 Oliver street, Boston. The company issued a similar volume for the college year of 1915-16 and the present Anthology will be uniform with the receding one. It will have an introduction by William S. Braithwaite, poetry editor of the Boston Transcript, whose long experience makes him an excellent critic of the first efforts of college undergraduates and who wrote a preface to the 1915-16 edition.

Any student of an American college is eligible to submit specimens of his verses, whether or not they have previously appeared in a publication. Manuscripts should be sent to H. T. Schnittkind '10, of the editorial department of the publishing company. The Anthology will be made up after May 16, and no poems will be accepted for inclusion in it after that date.

In past Anthologies of this nature the University has been well represented and undergraduates have frequently gained prominence in the literary world through the appearance of their works in the published volume. Offerings by comparatively unknown students have been accepted as well as contribution by men whose works have appeared in college literary publications.
