Four Field Events Yesterday

The first competition of the year in the field events was held in the cage yesterday afternoon. R. W. Harwood '20 (scratch) and D. Johnson '20 (15 inches) tied in the pole vault with a height of 11 feet, three inches. In the high Jump A. Perkins '19 (one and one-half inches) won with a jump of five feet eight inches, J. Buffington '20 (scratch) getting second Place. A put of 41 feet won the 12-pound shot event for J. R. Litchfield '20 (scratch) with A. Horween '20 (scratch) and C. F. Batchelder, Jr., '20 (scratch) in second and third places respectively. The 16-pound shot put was won by J. F. Linder '19 with a distance of 39 feet, five inches, C. A. Clark '19 coming second.
