Cross Country Men Given Stiff Work

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

About 15 men reported for cross-country yesterday. Starting from the Locker Building, Coach Shrubb took the squad over the Cemetery course, which is 4 1-2 miles long. Since this was the longest run to date, the pace was kept moderate. R. S. Cook '19 reported for the first time.

The cross country team will meet Cornell at Ithaca on November 4 and the dual race with Yale will be run over the Belmont course on November 11. The season will close with the Intercollegiates at New Haven the morning of the Yale football game, November 25. Besides these major contests there will probably be a dual meet with Massachusetts Institute of Technology October 28.

All candidates for the University and Freshman track and cross-country teams should report at the Locker Building on Monday at 2.30 o'clock. At that time an informal meeting will be held at which plans for the season will be discussed.
