BASEBALL SQUAD HAD STIFF PRACTICE GAME

University A and Freshman B Defeated Opponents in Long Work-Out Yesterday Afternoon.

Teams A and B of the University baseball squad played a six-inning game yesterday afternoon which resulted in an overwhelming victory for A by a score of 19 to 1. The game was marked by heavy hitting and loose fielding. Errors were plenty and extra base hits were numerous. Abbot, in five times at bat, secured four hits,--three singles and a home run. Wyche also batted well, getting three hits in four times at bat, while Coolidge made three hits in five times up. F. G. Fripp '16 took the place of Captain H. L. Nash '16, who was out because of a stiff arm.

Team B of the Freshman squad, by a batting rally in the fifth inning of a nine-inning practice game, was able to beat Team A by a score of 5 to 2. Fast fielding was the striking feature of the game.
