The University fencing team, composed of Captain W. H. Russell '18, E. P. Hamilton '18, and G. H. Code '18, and accompanied by Coach Leslabay will leave Boston for New York next Thursday to compete in the Intercollegiate Championship Finals at the Hotel Astor next Friday evening, and Saturday afternoon and evening. The team will remain in the vicinity of Cambridge for regular practice until the time of departure for New York. The contests next Friday and Saturday evening are scheduled to begin at 8 o'clock, while the bouts on Saturday afternoon will start at 2.30. The University will meet teams from Yale, Columbia, Cornell, United States Naval Academy, and Pennsylvania. The University team has made considerable progress during the season as was unquestionably shown by the victory over Yale last Saturday by the score of 6 to 3. During the past season, Yale has defeated Columbia, Cornell, and Pennsylvania by decisive scores, and the University should be well up in front in the final encounters next Saturday. The team's most formidable opponent will undoubtedly be the United States Naval Academy. Last year the University gained fourth place in the Intercollegiate, and next Saturday's results should be a big improvement on this record.

The deciding bouts on Saturday evening will be followed by the annual ball in the Hotel ballroom.
