The new building of the Sphinx-Kalu met Club at 72 Mount Auburn street will formally open this evening with the dedication exercises at 6 o'clock, followed by a dinner. President Lowell will be the guest of honor.

This new building is the result of the union of two clubs, the Sphinx Club and the Kalumet Club. When the new Freshman dormitories were opened, these two organizations felt that the need of waiting clubs was very much decreased in the University, and after various meetings of graduate committees, the present union was formed.

A graduate committee was appointed to raise a building fund, since neither of the old buildings would answer the purpose, and the present structure on Mount Auburn street is the result of the committee's labors. The building itself will remain under the control of a board of trustees for the use of undergraduate members.

The exterior of the building is of Harvard brick, constructed along Georgian lines, and is in perfect harmony with the other buildings of the University about Cambridge. The interior as yet has not been completely furnished, but everything will be settled within a short time. One of the outstanding features of the building is the large, attractive dining hall which comprises the second and third stories. Regular meals will not be served at the clubhouse until next Wednesday.
