GYMNASTIC TEAM'S SEASON HANDICAPPED BY INJURIES

The season of the University gymnastic team, which closed Saturday night with an exhibition and banquet in the Boston Athletic Association, has been, on the whole, fairly successful. The feature of the season, the triangular meet with Dartmouth and Technology, the first ever held, was easily won by the University by a score of 30 to Dartmouth's 24, while M. I. T. failed to register a single point. An unfortunate injury to D. Campbell '17, who with the exception of Captain W. Campbell '16 was the University's most brilliant performer, handicapped the team to such an extent that it was only able to tie Amherst and lose to Brown. Beside these meets the team took part in exhibitions at the Cambridge Y. M. C. A., Watertown High School, Andover, Exeter, Boston Y. M. C. A., and B. A. A.

Heavy Loss by Graduation.

The strength of next year's team will be considerably reduced by the graduation of Captain W. Campbell '16, who has been the University's most consistent point-winner during the past season. The only other man lost by graduation is F. M. Bullard '16. In D. Campbell '17, however, the University will have a star in the horizontal bar, the parallel bars, and the flying rings. J. M. French '17 and H. L. Kerr '17 are also good men in the first of these events, while French together with F. R. Whitney '18 are good performers on the parallel bars. On the flying rings Campbell will have a capable understudy in G. D. Flynn '19. In the side-horse event E. A. Benner '19 is the only man who has shown up well as yet. The team should be strong in club swinging with H. R. Bechtel '17, T. A. Smith '18, J. M. French '17, and F. R. Whitney '18, of this year's aggregation. Likewise in the tumbling events, not a man is lost, M. Blanchard '18, T. A. Smith '18, H. L. Kerr '17, and D. O. Woodbury '18 all returning next year.

The team will meet directly after the spring recess to select a captain for next year.
