THREE HARVARD MEN RESCUED

G. H. Crocker '17, Who Was on Sussex, Still in Serious Condition.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Word has been received that the three Harvard men on board the "Sussex," the British steamship torpedoed in the British Channel last Friday afternoon, have all landed safely, although one is still in serious condition.

G. H. Crocker '17 was standing near the bow of the ship at the time of the explosion and received a hard blow on the head. He was taken on board an English destroyer and carried immediately to a hospital in Dover. He lay unconscious for more than eight hours, and his condition was considered critical. A cablegram received by his family yesterday afternoon, however, stated that he had shown great improvement, although it cannot be said yet that he is entirely out of danger.

The other two men, Daniel Sargent '13 and S. F. Bemis 3G., are both safe in Paris, none the worse for their experience. Sargent is known particularly as the author of the book, "Our Gleaning Days." Bemis is at present spending a year abroad on a Parker Travelling Fellowship.
