Fogg Given Forty-Six Miniatures

The Fogg Art Museum has just acquired by gift a collection of forty-six miniatures, consisting of historiated initials and illuminated borders cut from chorals, psalters, etc.

These miniatures represent work of the fourteenth, fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. The collection, mounted in one folio volume, was acquired at the memorable Hoe Sale of Books. The miniatures are now to be removed from the folio volume and separately mounted and framed for exhibition purposes.

The collection is a valuable and welcome addition to the permanent treasures of Fogg Museum.
