HOCKEY SEASON SUCCESSFUL

After a successful season, characterized by the white-washing of all the important college teams, except Yale, Harvard has a clean right to the intercollegiate title, and bright prospects for another championship team next winter. With Doty the only member to graduate from this year's team, Coach Winsor will have a much casier task in forming another fast seven than he has had during the past season.

The forward line as it has played throughout the season has shown consistent steadiness and often individual brilliancy. G. A. Percy '18 has earned his last year's reputation as an exceptional player by fast and accurate work, shooting no less than 9 goals this winter. Both T. H. Rice '17 and E. O. Baker '17 have proved their ability and by maintaining the same skill that they displayed this year will be sure of their positions next year. T. C. Thacher '18 played his wing position with versatility and with another year's experience should be almost equal to Percy in all-round usefulness. M. Taylor '18, who became eligible only at the last of the season, and W. O. P. Morgan '18 turned out to be valuable second-string men. H. M. Bliss '17, R. Baldwin '17, and L. M. Lombard '17 were other substitutes who may be counted on next year.

The defence combination, which was rated as one of the best in the country, will suffer by the loss of A. F. Doty '16, who has shown himself to be the most versatile player on the squad. T. H. Eckfeldt '17 and A. W. Gardner '18 will have a hard time filling the position as satisfactorily as he has. Captain J. E. P. Morgan '17 and J. I. Wylde '17, however, by their brilliant, work, will make the task of Doty's successor easier, and with them as a nucleus, another strong defensive trio is to be expected.

The 1919 Freshman team will furnish two stars in R. H. Kissel, captain, a clever forward, and R. R. Bishop, goal tender. Both these men have given evidence of being valuable first-string material. The rest of the team comprises players of only average ability, but men whom Coach Winsor can develop. This year's second team also had some consistent players who should develop into valuable men next year.
