Professor Mathews Has Been Appointed Noble Lecturer

Professor Shailer Mathews, Dean of the Divinity School of the University of Chicago, has been appointed Noble Lecturer for this year. He is to lecture in Emerson each afternoon at 4.30 o'clock from March 20 to March 25. Following are the titles of his lectures:

General subject: "The Spiritual Interpretation of History." March 20: "The Extent to Which a Spiritual Interpretation of History is Possible." March 21: "Spiritual Tendencies in History as a Whole." March 22: "The Substitution of Moral for Physical Control." March 23: "The Growing Recognition of the Worth of the Individual." March 24: "The Growing Ascendency of Justice Over Rights." March 25: "The Spiritual Opportunity of Today."
