Babbitt Won Pole Competition

C. S. Babbitt '18 was awarded first place in the pole-vault competition in the Cage yesterday with a vault of 11 feet 6 inches (handicap, 3 inches), for he had a lower handicap than the others who reached the same height. W. E. Sullivan '18 (handicap, 1 foot 6 inches) and D. S. Laird '19 (handicap, 2 feet 6 inches) also vaulted 11 feet 6 inches when their handicaps were added, and were awarded second and third places respectively. Seven men entered the competition.

There will be further competition in the Cage today at 3 o'clock in the 12-pound shot for Freshmen, in the 16-pound shot for upper-classmen, and in the 35-pound weight for both.
