Significant in the movement to prepare for possible war is the experiment which the Amateur Relay League is to make late tonight in the wireless transmission of a message from Davenport, Iowa, to all parts of the country. The message will be relayed entirely by amateur operators and copies will be delivered to the mayors of all cities which have stations and the governors of all the states, the War Department having co-operated to make this possible. The message will be relayed from Cambridge by the members of the Harvard Wireless Club to Lexington to be read at the Washington's birthday exercises, and a copy will be delivered to Governor McCall. If amateur wireless operators, without the most powerful apparatus, demonstrate successfully the necessary efficiency to accomplish this feat, they will add materially to the military equipment of the nation.
