The University chess team defeated the Bay State Chess Club last night by the score of 4 to 2. This puts Harvard in the lead for the championship of the Boston Metropolitan Chess League. O. Maass 1G., T. A. Lightner 1L., and R. G. Sloane '19 all won their boards, while L. LeFevre '17 and A. S. Ellenberger '16 failed to. Bay State defaulted one board to Harvard.
