Major-General Leonard Wood, U.S.A., will open the University Regiment lecture series with an address in the Living Room of the Union this afternoon at 5.15 o'clock. The exact subject of his speech has not yet been announced, but he will probably talk on the various aspects of military training in colleges and its usefulness to the citizen. President Lowell will also address the Regiment at today's meeting.
General Wood has continually shown great interest in the Regiment and is coming to Boston from New York after a trip in the South for the special purpose of speaking this afternoon. He is keeping in touch with the progress of the Regiment and firmly believes that its success will have far-reaching effects upon the preparedness movement, especially among other colleges.
All members of the Regiment are expected to attend this lecture in uniform and should assemble in the Union at 5 o'clock. No attempt will, however, be made to arrange the Regiment by companies as had previously been thought desirable.
