Question Discussed by Mr. H. H. Powers Before Polity Club Tonight.

Mr. H. H. Powers, a former professor of economics at Leland Stanford, Jr., University, will speak before the International Polity Club at its first informal dinner of the year in the Tower Room of Memorial Hall this evening at 6.15 o'clock. Mr. Powers' address will be "Can a League Enforce Peace?" and he will also discuss with the members of the club the advisability and need of the adoption of a system of universal and compulsory military service in the United States.

Mr. Powers, who is the author of "The Things Men Fight For", is a graduate of Madison University in the class of 1882. He received the degree of Ph.D. in 1894 and has since taught in several colleges and universities.
