To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
I want to tell of a kind act I saw done by someone of the Harvard paraders in a recent torchlight parade. I was coming home and as the parade disbanded some of them gave their torches to delighted kids. One little fellow seemed to be too small to be seen, but one student saw him and gave him his torch. Perhaps he would like it for a souvenir himself. The youngster was so pleased that he wanted to know if he could light it on Hallowe'en.
I did not get a chance to even thank the gentleman who gave it, but I think he was a real hero and under the circumstances an exceptional one. How many, I wonder, in an election bustle of young people, would have thought of a little boy, even if they had noticed him. This was in itself a remarkable thing.
I saw one sign in the parade which said that they didn't have much to give for note-paper. Will you please accept a little for them in case they need some at an inconvenient time, from the little boy with best wishes. I will gladly send more if wanted, or some cents as referred to on the placard. I know of one shortage of note-paper I don't wish for again. A SOLDIER'S MOTHER.
