The competition for the position of second assistant manager of the University Musical Clubs, open to all members of the Class of 1919, will start this evening at 7 o'clock, at which time candidates should report at Thayer 32, where the work of the competition will be outlined. The competition will close about a week before the Christmas recess, and the man who is selected for the position will accompany the clubs on the Southern trip planned for the coming vacation. He will become assistant manager of the clubs in March, 1917, and will manage the clubs during the 1918-19 season, at which time the next Christmas trip will take place.
The work of the competition consists primarily of clerical and managerial work, each man being given an opportunity to show his ability and originality in planning trips, arranging transportation and conducting concerts. Previous experience is not a necessary prerogative.
