The final number enrolled in Military Science and Tactics 1 will decide whether Harvard remains in the van of the preparedness movement. The tradition of voluntary military service, born in the days of Revolutionary and Civil wars, was continued and strengthened by the formation of the Regiment last year. The failure to establish two units of the reserve officers' training corps at Harvard will shatter the tradition.
