On the first day of the annual fall rowing regatta, the Thayer Club obtained four points and the Eliot Club one. If the Eliot first wins with open water between the shells today, they will win the Filley Trophy, five points to four; otherwise they will lose it.

Thayer third won the heat yesterday but was lapped by Eliot second, thus winning two points and the second crew medals, and Eliot one point. Thayer second defeated Eliot third, winning two points. The following men made up the crews: Thayer third: stroke, W. H. Mitchell '19; 7, P. Robinson '19; (6, T. E. Proctor '19; 5, F. T. Fisher '19;) 4, E. A. Hill '19; 3, G. T. Clunie '19; 2, L. K. Garrison '19; bow, R. C. Merriam '19; cox., C. E. Hodges '19.

Thayer second: stroke, N. Fell '17; 7, W. T. Tibbetts '17; 6, E. C. Whittemore '19; 5, F. D. Harrower '18; 4, J. L. Weld '18; 3, J. R. Parsons '19; 2, J. F. Howe '18; bow, R. Pierce '19; cox., R. N. Durfee '19.

In the dormitory races the first Standish crew defeated Gore by a narrow margin with Smith trailing behind. Standish won both other races, and Smith secured second place. The Slocum Trophy therefore goes to Standish for a year, which had 12 points to 5 apiece for both Gore and Smith. The winning crews were composed of the following men:

Standish A: stroke, C. F. Batchelder, Jr.; 7, A. F. Lippitt; 6, G. B. Nathan; 5, L. B. Norrie; 4, A. H. Bracket; 3, C. H. Watson; 2, R. Saltonstall; bow, B. C. Wheeler; cox., J. B. Read, Jr.

Standish B: stroke, H. Barry, Jr.; 7, E. W. Fabyan; 6, G. H. Peters; 5, J. C. S. Fleming; 4, C. L. Muller; 3, L. L. Foley; 2, D. V. Widder; bow, I. S. Randall; cox., R. Gerould.

Standish C: stroke, R. L. Place; 7, L. Hall; 6, R. F. Kimball; 5, W. B. Plummer; 4, R. C. Hardy; 3, W. L. Thieme; 2, F. C. Packard; bow, G. B. Stuart; cox., H. A. Wiener.

The winners of these races, dormitory and club, will receive individual trophies, the first crews individual cups and the second and third crews medals. The first Eliot and Thayer crews will race over the 1 7-8 mile course this afternoon at 4.20 o'clock.

The Freshman season will continue as long as the weather permits. The following men will make up the squad and will report at Weld boat house Monday at 3.50 o'clock: C. F. Batchelder, Jr., A. H.
