Trials for the class tennis teams will begin next Monday afternoon on Jarvis Field. Each team, consisting of six men, will play six singles matches and three doubles matches with one other team to decide the winner between those two teams. The Freshmen will play the Sophomores, the Juniors will play the Seniors and then the teams winning these matches will play for the championship. Competitive trials will be held and the teams picked by the class captains, J. S. Pfaffman for 1917, H. G. M. Kelleher for 1918, R. C. Rand for 1919, and G. W. Helm for 1920. All men in good scholastic standing are eligible and may sign up at Leavitt and Peirce's before Friday at 6 o'clock. No entry fee will be charged.
In the doubles tennis tournament yesterday, W. Rand 1G and R. C. Rand '19 defeated J. V. Austin '18 and T. W. Whitall '17, 6-2, 6-3, 6-2, thus winning their way to the finals. H. R. Guild '17 and C. Jennings 1L defeated D. K. Dunmore '18 and E. B. Benedict '18, 5-7, 6-2, 6-3, and are now in the semi-finals.
The following matches will be played on Jarvis Field today: at 2.45 o'clock: P. F. Le Fevre '18 and H. T. Davis '18 vs. R. Kennedy '17 and R. L. Lipman 1L, winner to play H. R. Guild '17 and C. Jennings 1L. At 3.45: (3 out of 5 sets).
