Coach P. D. Haughton '99 was on the field yesterday and for the first time this season appeared in his football togs. In the scrimmage the University football team scored twice on the second team, but was itself scored on when R. B. Brown '18, of the second team, recovered a fumble and carried the ball the length of the field for a touchdown. The University was given the ball in the middle of the field and by straight football combined with a blocked forward pass which T. C. Thacher '18 recovered before it touched the ground, advanced to the seconds' 25-yard line, where R. Horween '18 broke through the centre of the line and was finally downed on the one-foot mark. He then went over for a touchdown and W. F. Robinson '18 kicked the goal
The scrimmage was started again in the middle of the field, and, after an exchange of punts, it was the University's ball on the seconds' 35-yard line. E. L. Casey '19 then circled left end for a touchdown and R. Horween '18 kicked the goal. At this point the University's substitutes were put in and the ball again given to the first team on its 35-yard line. H. W. Minot '17 was thrown for a loss and the University was offside. This forced them to punt out and there was another exchange of kicks. Minot then broke loose with two long runs of 30 and 20 yards respectively, bringing the ball to the seconds' five-yard line. Here the University fumbled, Brown recovered the ball, and, due to J. F. Ryan '18's interference, was able to run 95 yards for the second team's lone score. L. Crosscup '19 kicked the goal.
