The first of the competitions in the five field events is scheduled to take place next week. On Wednesday at 3 o'clock there will be a competition in the pole vault, on Thursday contests in the high and broad jumps, and on Friday in the shot-put and 35-pound weight.

Two cups are offered for the best records in these competitions, which will continue every week during the winter practice. One cup will be given for the best actual record in each event, and the other for the best average plus the allotted handicap. These competitions are open to both Freshmen and upper-classmen, and new men should come out at once in order to compete in the series from the first.
