A signal corps, completely equipped with regulation military apparatus, has been provided for the student regiment at the Pennsylvania State College. About twenty students from the freshman companies have been detailed to the signalling squad, and they will be organized for field work with the opening of the second semester tomorrow. The college wireless tower, erected as a memorial by the class of 1912, will serve as an important station in the signalling work.
The trustees of the college have named a committee on preparedness and have determined to offer the buildings and grounds of the college for use in time of national emergency; to tender the use of the campus to the military authorities for a summer training camp if desired; and to offer a course of military instruction to men attending the summer school.
