Why is 1919 so late in organizing? Last year the Freshmen elected their officers on December 18. To be sure, before the day of the new dormitories Freshman elections usually were not held until February or even March. But with the present opportunities for early acquaintance the reasons for such late starting are in the main removed. And the successful "social functions" held by 1918 in the second half of last year show the value of an early start. Admitting that these are busy days, there should still be time for the final organization of 1919. In the flurry of military ardor the importance of class officials should not be overlooked. It is the Student Council's move.
