Yale Decisively Defeated in Final Match at Providence.

The University golf team broke even in the games played this season, winning and losing two and tying in a fifth. The game with Williams College was cancelled.

Rhode Island State golf team was the first opponent, and the University was not able to win from the experienced golfers, who took the game by a single point, 4 to 3. The University showed good from in this match for the opening of the season. The team played the University of Pennsylvania to a 3 to 3 tie, and won from Fall River 4 to 3 in the third game on the schedule.

In the final match before that with Yale, the team was outclassed by the Brookline Country Club team, which took 7 matches to 2 for the University, won by J. W. Hubbell '17 and F. H. Goodspeed '16. On May 29 the team went to Providence, and, in the last match of the year, defeated Yale 5 to 1 on the links of the Rhode Island Country Club.

The following men played in the match against Yale: E. P. Allis '15, E. H. Canan '17, J. G. Heyburn '16 (captain); J. W. Hubbell '17, G. A. McCook '16, and J. T. Wylde '17.
