The "Craigies" won the championships of the Leiter cup baseball series by defeating the "Maidstones" by the score of 5 to 4 on Soldiers Field Saturday. The game was fast throughout, and was decided only in the ninth inning when the "Maidstones" made several errors allowing their opponents the winning run. The "Maidstones" got 7 hits while the "Craigies" made only 5. E. W. Freeman 3L. and E. A. Reese 2L. was the battery for the "Craigies"; and H. M. Wright '15 and R. H. Stiles '16 for the "Maidstones."
The score by innings: The following 10 men of the "Craigies" will receive cups: Harry Beal E.T.S., of Auburndale; James Eugene Bennett 2L., of Youngstown, O.; Edgar Wells Freeman 3L., of Plainfield, N. J.; Wright Hugus 2L., of Wheeling, W. Va., captain; Ernest Carlton Kanzler 3L., of Saginay, Mich.; Henry Ely McElwain, Jr., 3L., of Holyoke; Ernest August Reese 2L., of Hubbard, Ia.; Pearce Codington Rodey 3L., of Albuquerque, New Mex., manager; Robert Elisworth Scott 3L., of Cambridge, O.; and William Parker Seeley 2L., of Bridgeport, Conn.
