In planning to establish a war relief fund in London to be drawn upon as emergency requires, the Harvard Club of London is making a wise and clear-sighted move. The horror and devastation of war falls suddenly upon a community and much suffering can be avoided if aid can be rushed to the scene immediately. When an appeal has to be sent out across the ocean or even to nearer countries, valuable time is necessarily lost in gathering together the resources.
Many different relief departments are constantly asking for aid which it is impossible to give promptly. Consequently the originators of the scheme for a base fund hope for an immediate as well as a generous response to their appeal.
