YALE 1918 TEAM VICTOR IN POORLY PLAYED CONTEST

Freshmen Went to Pieces at Critical Points and Lost on Errors by 7 to 3 Score.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

By failing to take advantage of its opportunities at critical times together with a large number of misplays, the Freshman baseball team closed its season by losing to the Yale 1918 team, 7 to 3, at Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. Until the fifth inning the playing was faultless with the Freshmen having a little the best of it, but in that inning with two men down and three on bases the Harvard 1918 aggregation went completely to pieces making four errors and allowing four Yale men to cross the plate. Although Garfield, of the Yale 1918 team, gave nine bases on balls the Freshmen were able to get around the bases but three times.
