In a spirited half-mile race in the Basin Saturday the Freshman four-oared crew won from the Pomfret and Middlesex fours. The race was closely contested all the way and the 1918 crew was but two feet ahead of the Pomfret boat at the finish. Middlesex finished a quarter of a length behind Pomfret.

The 1918 second and third fours and the Middlesex second crew met in another race, which resulted in a victory for the second Freshman boat with Middlesex trailing.

The Freshman crews rowed as follows:

First four.--Stroke, Simonds; 3, Williams; 2, Macdonell; bow, Reynolds; cox., Hawkins.

Second four.--Stroke, Franklin; 3, Read; 2, Cabot; bow, Gray; cox., Jackson.

Third four.--Stroke, Lund; 3, Osborne; 2, Burr; bow, Storer; cox., Kielty.
