CLEAN SWEEP FOR TENNIS TEAM

University Won From Amherst In Straight Sets Saturday.

The University tennis team opened its home schedule with a clean sweep against Amherst, winning 6 matches to 0 in straight sets at the Jarvis Field courts on Saturday afternoon. The feature match was one of the doubles sets in which Captain R. N. Williams, 2d, '16 and G. C. Caner '17 defeated Cady and McCloy 6-0, 11-9. None of the University players was hard pressed to win in the singles, although Williams and Cady played two very close sets.

Singles.--R. N. Williams, 2d, '16 defeated F. Cady (A.) 8-6, 7-5; G. C. Caner '17 defeated J. L. Snider (A.) 6-0, 6-4; W. Rand, 3d, '17 defeated J. C. McCloy (A.) 6-3, 6-2; L. Curtis, 2d, '16 defeated G. Keith (A.) 6-2, 6-0.

Doubles.--Williams and Caner defeated Cady and McCloy 6-0, 11-9; Curtis and Rand defeated Snider and H. T. Langspecht 6-3, 8-6.
