To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

At a meeting of the Board of Judges for the Freshman Song Competition held last night, the song submitted by Edward Holland McCabe '18, of Lawrence, was chosen as the official 1918 song. The class officers hope that this song will be learned by all members of the class, so that it may be sung at all class meetings during the college course and afterwards.

The judges--members of the Music Department and members of the Senior class--found it very difficult to make a selection due to the excellence of four of the songs submitted. The successful song was chosen because of its tunefulnes and directness. It is hoped that the best of the other songs may be arranged and sung by the Glee Club, if possible, or used for football songs next year, with a slight alteration of the words. A. T. DAVISON.
