In meeting Holy Cross on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 4 o'clock, the University baseball team will play the second of a two-game series with the Worcester college. In the first game between the two teams on May 8 Mahan held the opponents to three hits and the University won in spite of misplays, by the score of 5 to 3 in a ten-inning battle. Frye or Whitney will be in the box today, as Mahan has worked overtime in the past two weeks and will be given a rest before the contest with Princeton on Saturday.
The Worcester team has not been able to win consistently this year. Although they defeated Pennsylvania 7 to 3, they were beaten by Yale, 2 to 1, as well as by the University team.
Much interest is centered in the game today as it will be the first since Coach Haughton took charge of the team on Monday.
