EXETER SHUT OUT FRESHMAN NINE

Errors and Weak Hitting Were Causes of Second Defeat for 1918.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Freshman baseball team lost to Phillips Exeter Academy 3 to 0 on Soldiers Field Saturday afternoon through inability to hit Comerford, Exeter's star twirler. The Freshmen's errors counted for runs, Boyden's muff of Comerford's long fly in the third, followed by Martin's hot drive netting Exeter's first run. Exeter scored again in the ninth when Cleveland started with a hit. Peters hit to Enwright but both men were safe on Wiswall's error. McNamara sacrificed, and both runners scored on Cole's liner.
