The Freshman track team lost to Phillips Exeter Academy 70 1-2 to 37 1-2 at Exeter, Saturday afternoon. Captain Coggeshall '18 won the mile by a fine sprint after a slow pace all the way. The other winners for the Freshmen were E. Rowse '18 in the 220-yard low hurdles, and C. S. Babbitt '18 in the pole-vault.
Phillips and Bawden were the high point winners for Exeter, the former winning both dashes, and Bawden both the quarter and the half-mile. E. J. Pratt '18, L. B. Means '18, and Porter, of Exeter, took bad falls in the hurdles.
No records were broken, but Phillips came close to the 220-mark of 22 seconds.

Running high jump.--First, tie between Anderson (E.) and Buffangton (E.); third, tie between Chase '18, Dickinson '18, and Perkins (E.). Height, 5 ft., 6 in.
Running broad jump.--Won by Kempton (E.); second, Davis '18; third, Mann (E.). Distance, 20 ft., 11 1-2 in.
12-pound shot-put.--Won by Cleveland (E.); second, Smith (E.); third, Horween '18. Distance, 40 ft., 7 in.
12-pound hammer-throw.--Won by Gennart (E.); second, Bartlett (E.); third, Lothrop '18. Distance, 135 ft.
Pole-vault.--Won by Babbitt '18; second, Welch (E.); third, tie between McDonald '18, Rogers (E.), Potter (E.), and Chilton (E.). Height, 10 ft., 9 in.
