TROPHY FOR BEST PREP. SCHOOL

The University chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa has offered a bronze trophy to be held for one year by the preparatory school whose scholars do best in the University entrance examinations. No detailed rules have been drawn up except that the award will be based on the number of names on the honor list in proportion to the number of candidates from the school (with a minimum of five), so that small schools, provided they send five or more pupils to be examined, will have as good a chance as the larger schools.

The trophy, to be first awarded for this year's entrance examinations, is a bronze bas-relief showing a student figure, with the statue of John Harvard in the background. It has been executed by Mr. R. H. Reccia of Boston, and will be on exhibition in the Union in a few weeks. At the end of ten years it will be awarded permanently to the school that has done best during this period.
