In the first practice game of the season the Freshman baseball team defeated Volkmann School, 15 to 8. The 1918 team showed up well, Wyche driving in several runs with a long three-base hit. The Freshmen lined up as follows: s.s., Rosenburg, Murray; r.f., Percy, Wyche; c.f., Knowles, Ellis; l.f., Boyden, Kidder; 3b., Harrison, Wiswall; 1b., West, King; 2b., Walker; c., Anthony, Geer; p., Hitchcock.

Team A defeated team B, 4 to 2, in the University baseball practice yesterday afternoon. In the six-innings of play both teams showed the effects of nearly a week of idleness, as there were numerous errors. Before the game the batters were given practice against G. A. Davis, Jr., 2L., who pitched for the Boston Braves last year.

The teams lined up as follows:

Team B.--r.f., Coolidge; s.s., Beal; l.f., Hardwick; c., Harte; c.f., Willcox; 3b., Phillips; 2b., Crowley; 1b., Holly; p., Cummings.
