1918 Debating Trials Thursday

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Preliminary trials for the Freshman debating team will be held in Harvard 6 next Thursday evening at 7 o'clock. Candidates will be required to speak for five minutes on either side of the question: "Resolved, That the Monroe Doctrine should be abolished." Subsequent trials will be held for those who are retained Thursday evening.

The Freshman triangular debate with Yale and Princeton will come this year on May 7. Princeton will send a team here; a Freshman team will go to New Haven; and Yale will send one to Princeton. The subject of the debate will be as stated above for the trials. Men are therefore urged to come out regardless of previous experience. Any further information may be obtained from P. Sayre '16, Matthews 53.
