Morgan Brigham Phillips '15, of Newton Centre, has been appointed captain of the University second baseball team. Phillips prepared at Milton Academy, where he played on the nine, and was last year captain of the second team. The team will be organized today and all candidates should report at 2 o'clock. Men not retained on the University squad should report with this team, as well as these out earlier in the spring.
The following 23 men have been retained for the University squad: G. E. Abbot '17, O. Ames '17, C. E. Brickley '15, C. S. Clark '16, F. P. Coolidge '16, W. C. Cummings '17, F. R. Devereux '16, G. B. Emmons '17, H. E. Fitzgibbons '15, R. B. Frye '15, R. T. Gannett '15, W. G. Garritt '17, H. R. Hardwick '15 V. C. Harris '17, R. Harte '17, A. D. MacDonald '15, E. W. Mahan '16, J. F. O'Day '16, C. S. Reed '17, T. H. Safford '16, J. B. Waterman '15, W. Whitney '16, and W. Willcox, Jr., '17.
Practice With Graduates.
A practice game between the University baseball team and one composed chiefly of graduates will take place on Soldiers Field tomorrow. Those not graduates are White, an old star of Princeton, Martin of Tufts, and C. E. Davidson, of Volkman School. The line-up of the University team has not been decided upon as yet. Their opponents, however, will take the field as follows: p., White; c., H. E. Reeves '12; 1b., C. B. McLaughlin '11; 2b., S. P. Clark '14; 3b., Davidson; r.f., Martin; c.f., T. J. Campbell '12; l.f., R. C. Babson '12; s.s., D. J. P. Wingate '14.
