University football practice took on a more serious aspect yesterday when the teams were put through a thirty-five minute scrimmage. The teams were evenly matched and the only score was a pretty drop-kick by W. F. Robinson '18 for the "Blacks." O. G. Kirkpatrick '17 also showed up well for the "Blacks," and J. A. Doherty '16 excelled for the "Reds."

Before the scrimmage the men were given drill on the dummies, and put through signal practice.

The teams lined up as follows:

Reds.--Centre, Day; guards, Leighton, Selden; tackles, Dean, Hartley; ends, Coolidge, Nelson; quarterback, Doherty; backs, McKinlock, Woodruff, Gesumky.

Blacks. -- Centre, deRham; guards, Snow, Townsend; tackles, Kirkpatrick, Wentworth; ends, Eckfeldt, P. Day; quarterback, Gardner; backs, Horween, Robinson, Sagar.
