The unusual number of positions on next falls' association football team which must be filled by new men should bring out a much larger squad of candidates for the spring practice than have yet reported.
Captain W. W. Weld '16 and R. H. Norris '17 forwards; and D. M. Moffat '16, J. M. Jennings '15, and F. G. O'Neill '16, backs, are the only members of the 1914 team who will be available next year. This means that three forwards, two backs, and a goal guard must be developed from the present squad of candidates. It is a fine opportunity for members of last years' Freshman team and for others interested in the game to make the University team. This opportunity is further enhanced by the fact that Coach Burgess has been secured for the spring practice.
Daily work for the squad began last Monday, and will continue until the spring recess. If enough men report, some sort of inter-class games will be arranged, and there is a possibility of one or two outside games with local teams. Every man who reports now will have a chance to play in the daily scrimmages, and to receive more individual attention than the crowded work in the fall will allow.
