Long Work-Out for University Squad.--Three Short Games for 1918.

The University and Freshman baseball squads had a long work-out on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. After the regular batting and fielding practice, a scrub game was organized which ended in a 9 to 9 tie. Three short games were played by the Freshman squad.

The University teams played as follows:

Team A.--s.s., Abbot; r.f., Frye; l.f., Hardwick; 3b., Phillips; c.f., Brickley; 1b., Holly; c., Waterman, Appleton; 2b., Swan, Winlock; p., Loring, Harris, MacDonald.

Team B. --s.s., Reed; c.f., Willcox, Ames; r.f., Coolidge, Gannett; c., Harte, Safford; 1b., Nash; 3b., Beal; l.f., Emmons, Mahan; 2b., Stowell; p., Wood, Weis, Withington.
