The first outdoor practice for the University and Freshman baseball candidates was held yesterday afternoon. A practice game, the first of the season, was played between two teams from the University squad, and the score was 9 to 6 in favor of team A. The 1918 candidates had some fielding practice under the direction of H. L. Nash '16, and a few of their battery men worked in the regular game.
The line-up of the teams was as follows:
Team A--r.f., Devereux; s.s., Abbot; c., Harte, Stephens; 1b., Nash; c.f., Emmons; l.f., Ames; 2b., Phillips; 3b., Beal; p., Weis, Withington, McDonald.
Team B--s.s., Reed; c.f., Hardwick, Frye; 16, Holly; l.f., Brickley; r.f., Gannett; 2b., Winlock; 9b., Stowell; c., Hickey, Anthony, Geer; p., Powell, O'Keefe, Harris.
