NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A four-mile race was held yesterday between the first and second crews. The second crew was given three lengths at the start. The first crew closed up the distance by a spurt at the Anderson bridge, gained three lengths on the stretch to Harvard bridge and finished with this lead in spite of a good spurt by the second at the end.

The orders:

First University crew.--Stroke, Lund; 7, Cabot; 6, Parson; 5, J. W. Middendorf; 4, Harwood; 3, Stebbins; 2, Morgan; bow, Murray (captain); cox., Kreger.

Second University crew.--Stroke, Brown; 7, Meyer; 6, Ely; 5, Soucy; 4, H. S. Middendorf; 3, Richardson; 2, Culbert; bow, Busk; cox., Cameron.

Radical changes were made in the order of the Freshman crew. M. Taylor '18 who has been stroking went to number two, taking the place of C. G. Parker '18, who went to stroke in the fourth crew. M. Wiggin '18 is now stroking the first. The final line-up of the first Freshman is as follows:

Stroke, Wiggin; 7, Quimby; 6, Pope; 5, Nathan; 4, Davis; 3, Mackie; 2, Taylor; bow, Brazier; cox., Place.
