FIRST BASEBALL CUT MADE

THIRTY-EIGHT MEN RETAINED.--FIFTY-SIX FRESHMEN HAVE REPORTED.

The first cut in the University baseball squad was made yesterday. In all, 38 men, half battery men, and half fielders, were retained. Those cut are expected to come out for the second team, which will be organized as soon as the weather permits.

There are now 56 men in the Freshman squad, 34 fielding candidates having come out yesterday. Any additional candidates must come out today, or be excused by Coach Reeves.

The University and Freshman teams were kept in the Cage yesterday by the cold wind, but will be outdoors on the first warm day.
