SPEAKER UPHELD RED FLAG LAW

Declared That University Exemption Would Mean Class Legislation.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

When questioned on his view of Harvard's attempt to have the Massachusetts legislature pass a law permitting the University full use of its crimson banner in all public demonstrations, Arthur Giovannitti, syndicalist leader, stated that the I. W. W. would fight such a privilege to the University. Giovannitti declared that such legislation would be for a class only and not fair to the I. W. W.

The Bean Red Flag bill, granting exemption to the University, is now before the committee, and will be reported to the legislature within the next two weeks.
