Captain R. R. Ayres '15 of the University baseball team, who has been ill at his home in Montclair, N. J., for nearly a month, has been obliged to undergo a second operation for an abscess.
Consequently, his return to Cambridge has been indefinitely postponed, and it is feared that he will not be able to join the team until May. Even if he should join the team before the Southern trip, he would probably not be able to play. In the absence of Ayres, M. B. Phillips '15, who captained the second team last year, will probably play third base.
