GYMNASTIC TEAM MEETS AMHERST

University Team Although Defeated Last Year Expects a Victory.

The University gymnastic team will go to Amherst this afternoon where a meet will be held tonight at 8 o'clock. Amherst usually has a strong team. Last year they defeated the University, but this year the chances for a victory seem good. The work of M. F. Gates '15 has been the feature of the previous meets this year, while R. G. McPhail '15 and P. M. Symonds '15 have shown up well in tumbling and club-swinging.

The squad leaves the square at 1.05 o'clock.

The following are the entries for the University:

Horizontal bar and parallel bars.--D. Campbell '17, W. Campbell '16 (manager), M. F. Gates '15 (captain). Side horse and flying rings.--W. Campbell '16, M. F. Gates '15. Club swinging.--H. R. Bechtel '17, R. G. Nathan '16, P. M. Symonds '15. Tumbling.--A. B. Bruce '15, M. H. Reynolds '15, R. G. McPhail '15. The judges will be Mr. Hugo Seikel of Waltham, Mr. I. Schroeder of Springfield Training School, and Mr. C. B. Lewis of Worcester Academy.
