F. HOPKINSON SMITH IN UNION

NOTED, AUTHOR, ARTIST AND ENGINEER ON "OLD FASHIONED FOLK."

Mr. F. Hopkinson Smith, the eminent American author, engineer and artist will speak in the Living Room of the Union this evening at 8 o'clock on the "Old Fashioned Folk." As a writer, Mr. Smith has entertained an extensive American audience for the last two decades, some of his best known books being "The Fortunes of Oliver Hain," "Colonel Carter's Christmas" and "The Tides of Barnegat." As an engineer Mr. Smith has also been widely recognized and, as a reward for his work, has received several medals. In the field of art, too, Mr. Smith has gained a considerable reputation by his charcoal sketches and his work in water colors.

Mr. Smith has spoken several times to Harvard audiences but his is his first appearance have in four years.
