An "American Henley" Proposed

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The proposal recently made to the Intercollegiate Rowing Association in regard to an "American Henley," modelled after the English regatta, has been attracting considerable attention lately. The prevalent feeling seems to be that the idea would be highly impracticable, although several colleges, notably Princeton and Cornell, have declared themselves in favor of the proposal.

There are numerous differences between English and American rowing that would interfere with such a scheme and furthermore it is doubtful if such a regatta would prove a fitting culmination to the rowing seasons of colleges which have long standing traditions that it would be inexpedient to change.
